Aski-da alongside Eurosport during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games

Increased support to keep production up and running

During the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Aski-da played an essential complementary role alongside Eurosport, our long-standing customer. To meet the intensified operations during this global event, the Aski-da team on the ground was reinforced daily by almost 5 additional technicians, ensuring constant support and seamless technical coverage during the 15 days of competition.

Multilingual coverage and logistical challenges

To cater for Eurosport’s large international audience, Aski-da also took care of commentator support in the following languages: English, French, German, Swedish, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Greek, Polish and many others. In addition to these languages, some digital platforms required additional language support, such as Japanese, illustrating the global reach of the coverage.

At the same time, covering simultaneous sporting events was a major logistical challenge. Eurosport’s line-up had to be constantly able to switch from one sport to another in real time, and our teams had to be extremely reactive to ensure that every live production, broadcast and commentary ran without interruption. The MAX platform was a key tool in this coverage, and we provided ongoing technical support to ensure its stability and efficiency throughout the Games.

Production sequences and simultaneous events

The ability to switch instantly from one sport to another, while ensuring the simultaneous broadcast of the closing ceremony on Eurosport 1 and Eurosport 2, required perfect coordination between the Aski-da and Eurosport technical teams. In addition, the pressure was increased by the number of daily lives, which started as early as 6 a.m. and ended around midnight, implying sustained activity throughout the Games.

Feedback: stress management and effective collaboration

One of the keys to our success was managing stress in such a demanding environment. The high pressure felt during the Olympic Games was kept under control thanks to meticulous preparation and proactive human resources management.

In the 3 to 6 months leading up to the Games, the Aski-da team has stepped up its training to ensure that every member has the necessary skills for the Olympics.

One of our team’s strengths lies in its ability to adapt to different job profiles according to the specific needs of the events. In this sense, close collaboration with Eurosport’s in-house teams and with international engineers, notably from the UK and the USA, has been essential in quickly resolving any technical incidents.

Aski-da and Eurosport: a partnership built on trust

Our collaboration with Eurosport during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games is the result of a long relationship of trust that began in 2011. As a provider of technical services for over ten years, Aski-da has demonstrated its expertise in several areas, including MTS (Media Technical Service), MAV (Audiovisual Maintenance), and M2P (Media Post Production).

In short, we provided 24/7 service, with 10 experts on site every day to support the various departments and ensure the smooth running of thousands of workflows and the recording of over 70,000 hours of content at Eurosport’s premises.
